Opportunities From: CU Denver Volunteers

Volunteer: BSAN Classroom Panels - General Business Focus

The CU Denver Business School Alumni Network (BSAN) is looking for alumni volunteers to join us this Fall Semester for our classroom speaking engagement series in the Business Emotional Intelligence Class (BUSN 2110). We are looking for volunteers to share advice alongside a panel of fellow alumni, presenting to CU Denver business students.

All majors and experience levels welcome!

Alumni participants will be asked to share their insights and guidance on topics such as how to set the course for a successful college journey, what they did well to help ensure success in earning a diploma and what they wish they might have done differently. Students will have a chance to ask questions of their own.

Panels will take place in-person during daytime classes and dates, times and volunteer slots are limited. Please choose all the times that you are available and we will arrange our panels to ensure we have the most variety. A confirmation of your specific panel will be sent closer to the date with more detailed information.

Please let us know if you have any questions, and don't forget to report your volunteer hours!

Recording Tips:You can record directly to ThankView on your desktop or mobile device.Make sure to film horizontally so you fill the frame. When recording with a phone or tablet, use a tripod or prop it up with something like books for stability. Try not to hold it.Keep your device close for good sound quality but far enough away that you are the focus. Try 3-4 feet.Consider shooting in a location your recipients may recognize.Choose a location that provides balanced lighting. Try to find a room that has a lot of natural light.Record with the window facing you so you benefit from the natural light. If the window is behind you, you will appear shadowed.Choose a flattering angle for your recording. Shooting from below is not usually a person's best angle.Avoid echo chambers. Often, sparse offices or conference rooms with glass walls can create a lot of echoes.Avoid windy locations or areas with a lot of foot or vehicle traffic, as your device's mic may pick up noise. Be yourself and have fun!
